Children's MinistryChildren’s MinistrySunday SchoolChildren Age 2 through 4th grade are invited to Sunday school from 10:20 to 11:20. We follow a traditional model with age groups in self-contained classrooms. September through May, Kindergarten through 4th grade meet in the music center for music and offering before going to their classrooms. Preschoolers meet in their classrooms. June through August there is no opening time, so parents should drop off children in their classrooms at 10:20. All students must be picked up by an adult at 11:20. Please try to be prompt so that teachers can pick up their own children and be able to attend 11:30 worship. Elementary students stay in the grade they just completed through August. Summer 2010 Rooms: Preschool (for children who will be age 3 by Sept. 15, 2010) in 201; Kindergarten/1st Grade in 310; 2nd/3rd/4th Grade in 307 Children’s ChapelA worship service just for kids is available during the 9:00 service. Children in Kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to participate (preschoolers can come if they bring a parent). We will all start in the sanctuary and then interested children will proceed to the chapel after the children’s message. Children should be picked up from the chapel downstairs at 10:00. Families who would prefer to have their children stay in sanctuary worship are welcome to do so. The first Sunday of each month there will be no Children’s Chapel so that everyone can stay in the sanctuary for Holy Communion. Children's Chapel Schedule. TGIWThank Goodness It’s Wednesday! Wednesday nights are full of exciting spiritual formation here at St. Paul’s! Beginning with a meal, (menus) Christian Education and music opportunities are available for all ages. Check out the schedule. Descriptions of the music groups in the children's music ministry. Club 56Club 56 meets during the school year and is open to all 5th and 6th graders during the 10:20 Sunday school time (Room 107) and on Wednesday nights from 5:45 to 6:30 (Room 119). While 5th grade still falls under Children’s Ministry and 6th grade is a part of Youth Ministry, this program is designed to celebrate the unique place these tweens are in their spiritual journey. On Wednesday nights after Club 56, 5th graders are invited to Chapel Choir, and 6th graders are invited to Wednesday night youth worship. Club 56 does not meet in the summer, as 5th graders are promoted to mid-hi youth in the middle of May. They can then participate in all mid-hi and combined youth events with the exception of the mission trip. RegistrationEach child attending Sunday morning or Wednesday night activities should submit a TGIW & Sunday School Registration form. This helps us know how to contact parents and makes us aware of any allergies. Forms can be found in the classrooms, in the office, at the Welcome Centers, and can be downloaded. Third Grade BiblesSt. Paul’s presents Bibles to all third graders every September. This is a long-standing United Methodist tradition, and St. Paul’s is pleased to participate in passing on our faith in this way. VolunteersVolunteers are always needed to support these ministries. If you would like to use your gifts to be a teacher/leader/helper for any of these ministries, contact Rev. Allison Warren at any time at 363-2058 or allison@stpaulsumc.org. |
