Early Childhood

FOCUS
Directors: Cynde Clymer, Chris Evan-Schwartz

The FOCUS/ Snapshots philosophy and goals for your children.

FOCUS/Snapshots children participate in a developmental curriculum including hands-on learning with concrete materials. FOCUS/Snapshots emphasizes language development. Guidelines for practice from the National Association for the Education of Young Children and from the High/Scope Foundation are used in creating an individually and age-appropriate curriculum. teachers observe children, gather information from parents and support personnel, then develop a curriculum which builds upon strengths. Interactions build self esteem and positive dispositions towards learning. Parents and caretakers are "partners" in learning, and are encouraged to participate in classroom activities and experiences outside of the program which contribute to their child's development.
