History of St. Paul's UMC

History of St. Paul's United Methodist Church

St. Paul's UMC was founded in 1840, when the Reverend John Hodges was assigned as a circuit rider to settlers in what would become Cedar Rapids Iowa. It has since grown in faith through three church locations, and many pastors and programs that were instituted.

The present-day building was built in 1914, and dedicated in 1915, on the 75th anniversary of the founding of St. Paul's.
