Iowa’s winter season
brings more opportunity for us to pursue indoor activities.
One of our most satisfying indoor activities can be reading. Our St. Paul’s library offers suggestions for these winter
months when we spend more time inside. Our
shelves offer many kinds of books besides Bibles, devotionals, commentaries,
spiritual enrichment, and other books of religion.
You will find a section
of biographies and also a section of fiction.
The library is continuously adding new books.
The fiction section includes popular series by present day authors.
You might choose books
from the crafts and hobbies, which could tempt you to create something
decorative and useful.
Winter is a good time
to learn more about gardening and nature activities, preparing for the spring
and summer ahead. Many books of
flowers and birds are also available. You
may check out books from the cookbook section, and try out some new recipes to
add to your list of old favorites. From
others, learn more about nutrition and different ideas for entertaining.
For some relaxing,
check out a book of poetry from our collection of modern as well as classical
poems.
Many books acquaint us with other countries and other cultures, important knowledge for us to understand better all the problems in today’s world. You might choose books about our own history, geography, and customs. Become familiar with interesting places to visit in Iowa.
Both the adult and children’s libraries have a wide variety of videos on many subjects. There are cassettes and videos of St. Paul’s Sunday sermons and of special events that have been presented at the church.
We invite you to visit
our libraries and get acquainted with all that we have to offer.
Whether you read by yourself or with your family, you will treasure those
hours spent with special books.
