Daily Mission Updates
Daily Mission Trip Updates
As Mid-High and Senior High Mission trips occur, daily updates will be provided for the members of St. Paul's to keep up with our mission teams, and to pray for increased faith on the part of our missioners.
Senior High
July 18 - Everyone is ready to go! 21 youth and six adults. Keep us in your prayers as we learn to form a deeper relationship with Christ.
July 19 - We're here, we're healthy, and we're ready to work!
July 20 - We were asked if we wanted to serve breakfast at a homeless shelter, in addition to doing the regularly scheduled work. The catch is that we had to have 9 people who wanted to get up at four am (not stay up, but get up) in order to serve the breakfast. Within 90 seconds, we had 18 people. So we'll also do it Thursday. When the kids returned, ready to load the vans to go to the worksite, they told us what they felt. "What an amazing experience! It was awesome!" Praise God for the willing hearts and hands of these young people that they rejoice at the opportunity to go out of their way to help others.
July 21 - We've learned a strong dislike for the Minnesota state bird. Not the loon - the other one that goes "bzzzzzz!" We are divided into four work teams today. Two are helping the elderly - one team is performing general maintenance chores, while another is giving social assistance at a care center. Another team is helping to create VBS - all without curriculum. The final team is helping today at the food bank. So far, they've individually sorted and packed over 1000 packages of a dozen tortillas each for passing out at different food pantries. Last night's worship was really neat, as the different teams shared things they've learned.
July 22 - Last night's worship was wonderful. How glad and grateful we are for this opportunity. This morning, we had a team serve at the homeless shelter for breakfast again. It was amazing, and our expectations were defied. We expected perhaps dirty and smelly. What we got were people who were loving and caring and supportive - great people in bad situations. God leads us to open our eyes. At the care center, it's turned into a time of multi-generational sharing. Wow. Today, tortilla packages were shipped out to food pantries and homeless shelters in 50 counties. Again, wow. Thank you all for your prayers.
Mid-High
June 30 - Everyone arrived last night and had dinner, devotions, and sleep. (One child went home this morning after becoming ill, and hopes to return tomorrow.) All the teams are at their work sites, and getting organized for their work. Praise Jesus for the faith and fellowship of these young people!
July 1 - The teams are rotating to different work sites. Everyone is growing and sharing faith and fellowship together. Please keep praying for growth in Christ.
July 2 - We are so busy, and learning so much! Tomorrow we come home, and you will hear from us in person.
