Congregational Care by Staff

Each person/family should take responsibility in letting staff know of hospitalizations or other serious health needs. You might or might not be listed at the hospitals. Call 319-363-2058 or contact a staff member directly by phone or by e-mail.

Staff or a trained lay person visits the hospitals five days a week and as needed, to give spiritual care and support to patients and families.

With permission, persons will be added to the prayer concerns in the bulletin or Outlook so that others can support them with prayers or cards.

Staff offer counseling support in troubled times, but reserve the right to suggest someone else if no clergy staff is available. (call 363-2058)

Additionally, Congregational Care offers occasional support groups, such as Divorce Recovery; Growing Through Grief and Loss; Marriage Enrichment; Outreach to our Military; Friendly Phone Ministries; and occasional classes on health/wholeness related issues.
