Reverend Harlan Gillespie, Lead Pastor

O sing to the Lord a new song!  Psalm 96:1
Our lives are like a medley of many songs that have been sung into our lives.  My medley includes growing up in a small town in rural north central Iowa; a two-room school house through sixth grade; a small Methodist church with formational clergy and lay leadership; my marriage to my wife, Deb, who I met in youth group, and our grown children, their spouses and granddaughters; a degree in teaching vocal music from UNI; teaching 7-12 vocal music in two school districts; a call to ministry that came to full season at the Belmond United Methodist Church; a Master of Divinity Degree from University of Dubuque Theological Seminary; serving blessed congregations at Plymouth & Rock Falls UMC’s; Lake Park & Excelsior UMC’s; St. Mark’s UMC of Iowa City; and now at St. Paul’s UMC; the faithful songs of the people of God; and – most especially – the song of faith in Jesus Christ that is sung into all of our lives life by God’s Spirit long before any of us were aware of it!
