Kum Disciples
Kum Disciples Sunday School Class
The Kum Disciples Sunday School class meets each Sunday in Room 317 on the third floor. The class which started about 35 years ago has nearly 50 members and with an average attendance of over 20 members.
The members include married couples, widows and widowers. The class is mostly self-taught, using the talents of the class members to lead the class. Each class begins with a snack, coffee and visiting time which helps bond the members of the class. The studies include Bible studies, and contemporary religious or spiritual books. The Kum Disciples class has many social activities outside the Sunday morning study, including meeting at restaurants for dinner, fund raisers, and at Christmas helping families in need. The class publishes a quarterly newsletter for its members and is available by contacting the contact person Ruth Balster. Each week, time is spent talking about joys and concerns of the members. Members enjoy the great discussions in the classroom and the good fellowship of the class members. Come join the Kum Disciples class, in room 317.
Sunday School Study - The Faith Club
The Sunday School class is studying The Faith Club, a book by Randa Idliby, a Muslim; Suzanne Oliver, a Christian; and Priscilla Warner, a Jew. They talk about stereotypes, misunderstandings of each other's faith, and then about what unites them. The sometimes contentious comments are recorded as actually spoken. The next study following this one will be “The Complete Gospels.”
