Status: Part-Time : Sunday’s 12:00pm-4:00pm
Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing age-appropriate care for children ,during our African National Sunday Worship Service, which may include: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, and interacting with children through games, stories, play, and prayer.
- Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, staff, and volunteers.
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to the service or programming.
- Nursery will be open during Sunday morning services, Wednesday night midweek programing and other programming as requested.
- Nursery workers are required to stay until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the child’s registration form.
- Straighten the room and clean any toys before leaving.
- Report to the Family Ministry Director any issues
- Communicate in advance, by phone to the Family Ministry Director:
- Planned absences or
- Unplanned absences at least 24 hours prior to the shift, if possible.
Must Have:
- Experience in caring for children between the ages of 6 months to 10 years.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Be flexible and willing to serve in a variety of ways.
- Satisfactory completion of background check
- Must adhere to the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Child Protection Policy Guidelines.
Preferred:
- Certified in CPR
- Ability to speak Swahili , Kirundi or another African Language
